Information That Helps Us Understand the Case

The initial inquiry does not need to contain every detail or document. It should identify the basic immigration process, current location of each spouse, filing history, present problem, and any deadline.

  • Full names of both spouses
  • Whether the petitioner is a United States citizen or permanent resident
  • Where the foreign spouse currently lives
  • Whether any immigration filing has already been submitted
  • Receipt numbers and filing dates, when available
  • Date and type of any scheduled interview
  • Title and deadline of any RFE, NOID, or denial
  • Brief description of prior immigration or criminal issues
  • Best telephone number and email address for a response

Do not upload or send passports, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, medical records, police records, or other sensitive documents unless the firm requests them through an approved method.

How the Initial Case Evaluation Process Works

Contacting the firm begins an intake review. Representation starts only after the firm accepts the matter and the required agreement and payment arrangements are completed.

STEP 01

Submit the Inquiry

Provide the basic facts, type of case, present location of both spouses, and any deadline.

STEP 02

Initial Intake Review

The firm reviews the information to determine whether the matter may be appropriate for further evaluation.

STEP 03

Consultation or Follow Up

The firm may request documents, ask follow up questions, or provide information about scheduling a consultation.

STEP 04

Case Acceptance

Representation begins only after the firm accepts the case and both parties complete a written representation agreement.

Questions About Requesting a Case Evaluation

Does submitting the contact form create an attorney-client relationship?

No. Submitting an inquiry, speaking with a staff member, or participating in an initial consultation does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Representation begins only after the firm accepts the matter and the required written agreement is completed.

Should I send my complete immigration file with the first inquiry?

No. Provide a concise description of the matter first. Do not send original documents or highly sensitive personal information unless the firm requests specific records through an approved method.

Can the firm represent clients outside Florida?

Immigration law is federal, and the firm may represent accepted clients throughout the United States and abroad. The availability of interview attendance or other in person services depends on the location, scheduling, case acceptance, and travel arrangements.

What should I do if I have an approaching deadline?

State the exact deadline prominently in the contact form and call the office. Do not assume that submitting an inquiry means the firm has accepted responsibility for the deadline.

Can I request help only for a USCIS interview?

You may request interview preparation or possible attorney attendance. Availability depends on the case history, interview location and date, attorney schedule, travel arrangements, and formal case acceptance.

Will the information I submit be enough to determine eligibility?

Usually not. An initial inquiry helps identify the general nature of the matter. A reliable legal analysis may require review of immigration filings, government notices, civil records, prior statements, and other supporting documents.
